A. Maxine Fishel, of Martinsville, passed away Thursday, June 3, 2010 at The Waters of Martinsville. She was 82 years old.
Born November 30, 1927 in Bloomington she was the daughter of Gilbert and Iva (Hendricks) Sanders. Maxine worked for over 20 years at Ladyman’s Café until retiring in September of 2005. She was a member of the West Second Street Church of Christ.
Maxine is survived by her children, RuthAnn White of Mooresville, Michael L. Fishel and his wife Teresa, Carolyn Sue Fox, Patty Lynn Woods and Mary L. Gilbert and her husband Dwayne all of Martinsville and Robert Steven Fishel and his wife Shonna of Ellettsville; a sister Wilma Townsley of Bloomington; one brother Dale Sanders of Sarasota, FL; fourteen grandchildren, Kevin White, Cindy Cruse, Steve Fishel, Megan Fishel, Jared Fishel, Brad Fox, Bryan Fox, Lisa Smith, Randy Utter, Scott Utter, Amanda Cowart, Ashly Poe, Toni Gilbert and Brooke Gilbert, and eighteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one grandson Michael White Jr. and two brothers Gerald Sanders and Paul Sanders.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 7 at 12:00 pm at Allen Funeral Home, 4155 S. Old State Rd. 37, with Mike Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be held on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the West Second Street Church of Christ or The Waters of Martinsville.
