Alice (Anne) O'Neill, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away Thursday evening, November 3, at the age of 90.
    Born June 22, 1921, in Sutton Courtenay, Abingdon, England, she was the daughter of Edward T. Whiting and Edith M. (Talbot) Whiting.
    Mrs. O'Neill came to America in 1948 where she married, had two children, and became a U.S. citizen.
    She was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church in Charlotte, North Carolina, and a long-time member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Bloomington, Indiana.
    Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Carmen O'Neill of Ventura, California; one daughter and son-in-law, Eileen and John Huber of Charlotte, North Carolina; and two grandsons, Michael Huber and Sean Huber, both of Charlotte.
    She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years, Charles T. O'Neill, as well as two brothers, Edward Whiting and Francis Whiting, and two sisters, Lucy Cross and Esther Whiting.
    Mass of Christian burial will be on Tuesday  November 8, 2011 at 9:00 a.m., in St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church with Father Thomas Kovatch officiating.  Entombment will be at Valhalla Memory Gardens in Bloomington.
    Friends may call at Allen Funeral Home 4155 South Old highway 37 on Monday, November 7, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.  Rosary prayer service will be at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.allenfuneralhome.org.

    You have my sympathy. I did not know Anne very long, but we became friends when she planned to move to Redbud Hills retirement. At that time I lived there. We took trips together on the Redbud bus and became friends. When she moved away she gave me her garden tools. Every time I use them I think of her. We corresponded for awhile but she didn't answer my last letter Prayers are with you. Helen sheldon
