Betty Carol Wilderman, 89, of Bloomington passed away Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at her residence. She was born on March 2, 1921 in Princeton, Indiana and was the daughter of George and Edna (McAfee) Wilderman.    Betty Carol graduated from Princeton High School in 1938 and from Indiana University in 1942 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology. In 1945, she graduated from Watchmaker School at Bradley University and then worked for the Republic War Plant in Evansville making P-47 fighter planes. She returned to Bloomington and was employed as a watchmaker for Cooper Jewelry.  When it closed in 1960, Betty Carol became a case worker for child welfare in Marion County, then in Bartholomew County, and finally, in Monroe County until her retirement in 1975.  Betty Carol was a former member of the First United Methodist Church and St. Paul United Methodist Church in Bloomington, as well as Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, Indianapolis and Noblesville United Methodist Church. Most recently she was a member of Unity of Bloomington. She also had been involved for many years with the spiritual organization Camps Farthest Out.  Betty Carol was preceded in death by her parents, and by her extended family members Merrill and Mary Beth McFall and by their son, John McFall. She is survived by other members of her extended family--David McFall (Patricia) of Phoenix, Arizona; Richard McFall (Kathryn) of Bloomington; Chuck McFall (Shelley) of Prior Lake, Minnesota; Reverend Jack and Mrs. Dorothy Wolfe of Noblesville, Indiana; and the Reverend Lynnette Carlson of Bloomington.  Private graveside services will be held Monday and a memorial service is planned at a later date.
