Betty Jean Corbin, age 83 of Bloomington passed away early
Thursday morning August 4, 2011 at Garden Villa Health and Living
Center. She was born in Bloomington to John and Vessie Hazel Barrow
on March 7. 1928. Betty was a life long resident of
Bloomington, attended 11th Street Pentecostal Church and was known
for her deep love for all animals, large and small. She leaves
behind her two sons, Donald Corbin and his wife Letha and James
Corbin and his wife Benita, all of Bloomington. Also surviving are
seven grandchildren, VaDonna Combs, Missy Arter, James Howard, Amy
Howard, Miranda Corbin, Wendy Sharpe, and Stacia Brumfield; seven
great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and two sisters,
Eva Hollars and Dorothy Newton. Betty was preceded in death by her
parents, her husband James Corbin in 1991, four brothers John
Barrow Jr., Floyd Goodman, Oscar Barrow, Leonard Barrow, and three
sisters Ruth Gillham, Edna Ridge, and Lois Boruff. Funeral services
for Betty will be held at 12:00 Noon on Monday August 8, 2011 at
Allen Funeral Home 4155 South Old Highway 37. Visitation will be on
Sunday August 7, 2011 from 4:00PM until 8:00PM also at Allen
Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made in Betty's honor
to either IU Health Bloomington Hospital Hospice or the American
