Bonnie Wilson Jones
Date Of Birth:February 23, 1949
Date Of Death:January 28, 2012
Service Date:February 11, 2012

Bonnie Wilson Jones, 62, of The Villages, FL (formerly of Bloomington and Norristown, PA) passed away on January 28th.
Born Bonnie Louise Brandt on February 23rd, 1949 in Norristown, she was the youngest of three children of Marlin and Betty Brandt.  She graduated from Norristown High School and Indiana University.  In September 1968 she was married to James G Wilson also of Norristown.  Jim and Bonnie had two children, Jim Wilson Jr. and Andy Wilson.  In 1974 the Wilson's moved from Norristown to Bloomington,  where they raised their family.
The Wilson's were avid boaters and golfers; spending most summer weekends between Lake Monroe and Bloomington Country Club.  In the winter, Bonnie spent her spare time as a hockey mom.  While raising her boys, Bonnie worked as an Optician/Office Manager for 25 years.
Bonnie's first husband Jim passed away in December 1992.  In March 1994 Bonnie married her second husband Phil Jones in Key West while on a cruise with a group of Bloomington friends.  Upon Phil's retirement and their subsequent move to Florida, Bonnie began to work more on her golf game, eventually getting down to a 16 handicap.  Once they settled in Florida, Bonnie began pursuing a career in real estate.  In 2011 working for The Villages, Bonnie was involved in closing 29 transactions, a figure she was very proud of and expecting to build upon heading into 2012.
Bonnie was diagnosed with breast cancer in July 2010.  Throughout her fight she maintained an extremely positive focus on beating the disease; continuing a full work schedule and traveling to upstate New York with family and Peru with her husband Phil in October of 2011.
Bonnie is survived by her spouse Phil Jones; her son Jim Wilson, married to Caroline Wilson, and son Andy Wilson married to Jenny Wilson.  Her sons have given her four grandchildren Emma, Nathan, Beck and Dutch.  She is also survived by her brother Rob Brandt and her father Marlin Brandt.  From the Jones family Bonnie is survived by children Christopher and Kim Jones; Cindy and Roger Stine, and Tammy and Alan Bugg.  Also from the Jones family are seven grandchildren Ashley, Hannah, David Bugg; Curtis Wallace, Lauren Stine, Taylor and Jaxon Jones.  There is also one great-grandchild Kylee Bugg.  After 62 years of life, work, play and fun; Bonnie will be remembered as the best Granny ever.
In addition to first husband Jim Wilson, Bonnie is preceded in death by her mother Betty Brandt and her brother Bill Brandt.
Memorial services for Bonnie will be held at Allen Funeral Home 4155 South Old Highway 37, Bloomington, IN on Saturday February 11th 2012 at 11:00AM followed by a burial at Allen's Creek Cemetery. Friends may call at Allen Funeral Home from 9:30AM until the time of the service at 11:00AM.  In lieu of gifts or flowers, please send donations to The Moffitt Cancer Center in The Villages, FL.

Phil, how deeply saddened we are. Impossible to believe such a bright light is now gone. Damn cancer. We are so glad you went to Peru. Our prayers are with you. Jim and Andy, your mother was truly special - so much joy, laughter and spirit. I was part of her Sat. Golf foursome and I will treasure the memories. She loved you, your wives and her fabulous grandchildren so very, very much. Keep her feisty, fun loving spirit alive in all of you. God bless you.

I learned of Bonnie's passing from a Norristown High classmate who contacted me about our upcoming reunion. Bonnie knew me as Sue Brashear....we were on the field hockey team together, double dated in high school, and are next to each other in the high school yearbook, SPICE. I saw her last at our 25th NHS Reunion, not realizing that then husband Jimmy was so ill. Bonnie was all about good times and laughter. She was such a better field hockey player than I was... Reading her obituary (that word just doesn't seem fair) it seems she conquered the sadness of losing Jim and continued her zest for living and giving to her family, friends, and community. She wrote in my yearbook R.M.A. (Remember me always)...I do, Bonnie. Love, Sue

I learned of Bonnie's passing from my church friend, Pat Wilson Wolfe. We all went to high school around the same time. Bonnie had married Jimmy, Pat's brother. I remember Bonnie as a wonderful athlete and a great human being, full of joy and kindness. I send my sympathies to her dear family.
