            Brent A. Owings, 45, of Bloomington died unexpectedly on Monday, April 4, 2011 at his residence.  He was born in Bloomington on September 13, 1965 the son of Roger and Charlotte A. (Hall) Owings and attended Bloomington High School South.  He previously worked at General Electric Co. in Bloomington and also had worked in roofing and for the Indiana State Highway Department.

            Brent was an avid sportsman.  He loved and lived to deer and turkey hunt, to prepare for the different seasons.  Just recently, he took his grandson to scout the woods for the upcoming turkey season, teaching the art of responsible hunting.  He loved to garden, to spend time with his family and always had a big heart, always a smile.

            Survivors include his wife, Tracy (Duvall) Owings, two daughters; Megan Owings of Bloomington and Nicole (husband Curtis) Dubois of Poland, his father,

Roger Owings of Bloomington; two brothers, Rick (wife Jami) Owings and Steve Owings, all of Bloomington, two grandchildren Kennedy Dubois and Braxton Owings and several nieces and nephews.

            He was preceded in death by mother, Charlotte Owings in 2009, one nephew, Jonathan Owings and his grandparents, Frank and Opal Owings and Floyd and Hazel Hall.

            Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 8, 2001 at Allen Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Baker officiating.  Burial will be at Salt Creek Cemetery.  Friends may call on Thursday from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.allenfuneralhome.org.
