Carl M. Myers, 85, of Bloomington died on Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at Bloomington Hospital.  He was born on August 14, 1924 in Monroe County the son of Carl O. and Hazel I. (Wycoff) Myers.  He was a self-employed public accountant. 

          Carl served for several years as the Chairman of the Monroe County Republican Party and was manager of the Monroe County License Bureau.  He was a lifelong member of the former Mt. Gilead Christian Church and sexton of the Mt. Gilead Church Cemetery.  He was a member of Monroe Lodge # 22, F.&A.M., Bloomington York Rite Bodies, Mural Shrine of Indianapolis, the Indiana Society of Public Accountants, the Northside Exchange Club and Burton Woolery Post #18 of the American Legion.  He was an Army veteran of World War II.

          Survivors include his niece, Phyllis Johnston of Indianapolis and several great nieces and great nephews.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Myers in 2007, one daughter in infancy, Jennifer Myers and one sister, Ruby Ratliff.

          Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Allen Funeral Home, 4155 S. Old St. Rd. 37 with Glen Stidd officiating.  Burial will be at Mt. Gilead Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4:00-7:00 p.m.  Masonic memorial services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday.
