Christin Michelle Turner, 37, of Bloomington passed away on Dec. 16th at Bloomington Hospital. She was born on Nov. 21, 1973 in Bloomington the daughter of Steven Campbell and Susie (Davis) Rejko. She was a graduate of Brown County High School in 1991 and attended Indiana University. She had the opportunity to spend two years in Belgium and enjoyed being able to travel in Europe while working and also worked for United Airlines for seven years. She was a beloved daughter, mother, granddaughter and sister.
She leaves behind her parents Susie Rejko of Bloomington and Jesse Rejko, her daughter Briley Shane Turner of Bloomington, her father, Steven Campbell of Nashville, IN, her grandparents, Robert and Virginia Davis of Morgantown, her aunts, Marti Reynolds of Bloomington, Mary Wagers of Nashville and Tammy Cravens of North Vernon, IN, uncle Danny Campbell of Nashville, her great uncle Danny Davis of Crossville, TN, all her cousins and extended family. She also leaves behind her childhood friends Jennifer and Joe Gilles and Tessa Baer of Nashville. Chris, Jennifer and Tessa were the “Three Amigo’s”. Also surviving is longtime friend Troy Killinger of Bloomington.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Wes and Valentina Campbell and one aunt, Cindy Campbell.
Chris was a free spirit with a love of life that will continue on for a multitude of generations through her organ donor gifts. She knew no strangers and loved animals, hiking and she studied Native Indian culture and traditions. As was described by a family member, “She beamed with life, radiant, giving and humorous. Whether a child, adolescent or woman, she beamed with a life everlasting, her smile was only obscured by the rays of the sun itself, her eyes danced with sparkles found on the water’s surface of a gentle stream, her hair laid in curls upon her shoulders with a majesty unparelled”.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. at Allen Funeral Home, 4155 S. Old St. Rd. 37 in Bloomington. Private family interment services will be held at Oak Ridge Cemetery near Helmsburg at a later date. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3:00-6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
