Daniel Ray Carrell, 66, a life-long resident of Bloomington, passed away on Saturday, June 25th at the IU Health Bloomington Hospital with his family by his side. He was born on November 17, 1944, the son of Clarence and Mabel (Rush) Carrell.  After graduating from Bloomington High Scholl, he worked for many years in the construction field before joining General Electrics. After his retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, neighbors and his two special dogs Sabrina and Marley.  Dan is survived by his parents; his wife Barbara (Chambers); two children Anthony Carrell and Kimberly Deckard; step-daughter Gigi Hobbs (Denny); brother Norman Carrell (Sandy); grandchildren Kylie Baker and Chance Barcus; step-grandchildren Cody Hobbs (Jessica), Matthew Hobbs ( Brooke) and Dustin Hobbs; step-great-grandchildren Jace Allen Hobbs and Hayden Len Hobbs; and a niece and nephew.  Funeral services will be held 2:00p.m. Thursday, June 30, 2011 at Allen Funeral Home with Mike Davis and Jerry Ghlson officiating. Burial will follow at Greene County Chapel Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to services on Thursday at the funeral home.
