David Wayne Foster, 72, of Bloomington, IN, currently residing in Naples, FL passed away Sunday, November 20, 2011 at Naples Community Hospital.  David was born at home April 30, 1939 a son of the late Wayne and Pearl Marie (nee Butcher) Foster in Monroe County, IN.  Mr. Foster was a veteran of the United States Army.  He was a member of the Indiana Historical Society, Jaycee's, Kiwanis, Boy Scout Council and Eagle Scouts.  David served as a Greenwood City Councilman and volunteer police officer. He also served as a Bloomington Historical Society Board Member.  He was an avid genealogist, gardener, collector, and enjoyed bocce ball.  Survivors include his loving wife of 28 years, Karen K. (nee Sims) Foster, loving children, Cheri (Ron) Foster Frushon, James Foster; step-children, Jeff (Cindy) Renier, Michelle (Steve) Shlansky; brother, Gary Foster, sister, Carolyn Sexton; sister-in-law, Janet Foster and cherished grandchildren, Cody, Jenna Rae, Jordon, Ben, Hannah, and Emma and beloved dog Barney. In addition to his parents David was preceded in death by his brother Don Foster.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 3rd @ 2 pm at Allen Funeral Home, 4155 S. Old State Road 37, Bloomington, IN 47401, (812) 824-5905.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in David's name to American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
