Dorothie A. Bruce, 67, of Bloomington died at her residence on Saturday, August 28, 2010.  She was born in Linton, Indiana on March 31, 1943 the daughter of Troy and Belvia (Deckard) Scroggins and was a graduate of Linton High School.  She worked for the former RCA when she first came to Bloomington and also worked with Indiana University and Dillman Farms.  Most importantly, she was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother.  Her family was first and foremost in her life.

          She is survived by two daughters; Gina Lynn (Bruce) Deckard (companion Karen Luallen) and Mellissa Mae (Bruce) Carter (husband Travis), all of Bloomington, one son, Alan Wayne Bruce of Bloomington, five grandchildren; Jacob Lee Ridge, Kasie Lynn Ridge, Kaitlin Mae Deckard, Kamden Marie Deckard and Nicole Mae Ridge, three sisters; Wilma (husband Lloyd “Bud) Chandler and Nancy (husband Charles) Seales, both of Bloomington and Treva (Don) Hurt of Cypress, TX, one brother,Larry (Pearl) Scroggins of Florida and her faithful dog “Patches”.

          She was preceded in death by her husband on May 31, 2010, Franklin Bruce, her parents, one sister, Mary Ellen Scroggins and one brother, Ronnie Scroggins.

          Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 4, 2010 at Valhalla Memory Gardens with Rev. Art Hanson officiating.  There will be no calling hours.
