Emma Sue Allen, 67, of Bloomington, IN passed away September 25, 2010. She was born in Eureka, IL on September 13, 1943 to Donald and Mary (Harnish) Gilkeson.
Emma Sue graduated from Judson College in Elgin, IL with a B.S. in Anthropology. She was a very active member in the First United Methodist Church in Elgin, IL and Willow Creek in S. Barrington, IL.
Survivors include her mother Mary (Harnish) Gilkeson, husband Charles Allen of Bloomington, IN, Daughters Anne Whitley (Richard) of Camberra, Australia and Joellen Emmerick (Eric) of Wheaton, IL., Step-sons Chuck Allen (Cherie) of Palatka, FL., Jack Allen (Irene) of Bartlett, IL and Step-daughter Rebecca Allen (Michael Bruder) of Bartlett, IL. Emma Sue had 7 grandchildren. She is also survived by brothers, Frank Gilkeson of Georgia, Robert Gilkeson of New Mexico, John Gilkeson of Illinois, Harry Gilkeson of Illinois and Jefferson Gilkeson of Washington, D.C. Sisters Barbara Gilkeson of California, and Ruth Molnar of Fairfax, VA.
Emma Sue is preceded in death by her Father and son, Ted Jakle.
Services will be at 11am on Saturday October 2nd at Willow Creek Community Church in South Barrington, IL.
