Evelyn L. Elliott, 80, of Bloomington, IN and formerly of
Naples, FL and Corydon, IN, passed away on Monday, August
6th, at Petersburg, IN. She was born in Bloomington, IN
on August 13, 1931, the daughter of Karsell and Elma (Jones)
Barrow. She was a homemaker for many years. Before retiring, she
and her daughter, Debra Cornwall, owned and operated a florist and
gift shop in Naples, Fl called Country Elegance and Gifts. She
attended Zion Community Church of the Nazarene in Bloomington, IN.
She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Ft. Myers,
FL. Evelyn loved doing all sorts of crafting and sewing. She
especially enjoyed her family and friends. She loved to talk about
what Jesus had done in her life and what He could do in other
peoples' lives.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Rev. Michael
Paul (Pastor of Petersburg Church of the Nazarene) and Theresa
(Sulser) Elliott of Petersburg, IN; five grandchildren, Joshua
Cornwall, Laura Cornwall, Jonathan Elliott, Shauna Elliott and
Lydia Elliott and two great-grandchildren, Zachary and Julia
Cornwall. Also surviving is one brother, Phillip R. Barrow,
of Franklin, IN.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Paul R. Elliott, whom
she was married to for 62 years; her daughter, Debra Cornwall;
brother, James Barrow and sister, Phyllis Martin.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, August
10th, at Zion Community Church of the Nazarene, 6287 W.
Ratliff Rd., Bloomington, IN, with Pastors Andy Hughes and Jim Barr
officiating. Burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Gardens. Friends
may call at Allen Funeral Home, 4155 S Old St. Rd. 37, in
Bloomington from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, August 9th, and
at the church on Friday one hour preceding the services.
