Gayle E. DePhue Cracraft, age 88, passed away at Bloomington Hospital, Wednesday, June 16, 2010.  A lifelong resident of Monroe County, Indiana, she attended Smithville School graduating in 1938.  She was the daughter of Harvey B. DePhue and Zelpha Kinser DePhue.  She was the stepdaughter of Vida Hudlin DePhue.  She married Willard Rex Cracraft in 1941 and he preceded her in death in June 2008.  She is survived by three daughters, Nancy Hawkins of Bloomington, Susan Floyd (David) of Pensacola, Florida, and Sara Hunt (Henry) of Danville, Illinois.  Twin sons, Ronald and Donald, died in infancy.  She is also survived by six grandchildren, Sam Floyd, Tim Floyd (Tamara), and Lisa Long (David), all of Pensacola, Troy Hawkins (Clara) of Bloomington, John Hunt, of San Francisco, California, and Ben Hunt of Chicago, Illinois.  Twelve great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandsons also survive.  Her surviving sisters are Thelma Elkins and Marie Latimer, both of Bloomington.  Others who preceded her in death include son-in-law Lester Hawkins, and brothers and sisters Paul Siscoe, Kathryn McGlothlin, Martha Wampler, and David DePhue.

 In her younger years Gayle worked at RCA.  She was a receptionist for twenty years for Dr. James Topolgus, Sr.  In retirement she worked part-time at The Flower Bowl.  She was an excellent seamstress and baker and she took pride in keeping house for her family.  She enjoyed arts and crafts of all kinds and liked to write.  She was a member of Miller Drive Church of Jesus Christ.  Through the years she taught Sunday school and was a song leader. 

 Visitation will be Friday, June 18, 2010, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Allen Funeral Home, 4155 S. Old State Rd. 37, in Bloomington.  The funeral service will be Saturday, June 19, 2010, at 1:00 p.m. at Miller Drive Church of Jesus Christ, 1100 E. Miller Drive, in Bloomington.  Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to Church of Jesus Christ, 1100 E. Miller Drive, Bloomington, Indiana, 47401, or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
