Georgia Lee (Thomas) Sylvester, 78, of Bloomington went to meet her Lord and Savior on July 4, 2010 at Bloomington Hospital. She was born on June 6, 1932, in Bloomington, Indiana, to Glen Thomas and Mary (Sowder) Thomas. Georgia was a loving mother dedicated to and passionate about her family. She dearly loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She cared about others and always helped people in their time of need. She enjoyed reading, writing in her journals and sharing stories with families and friends. She was always working on her next great novel -- her ideas and imagination were boundless. She enjoyed sewing, volunteering, and gardening. She loved to cook and share recipes. She was a lover of animals and nature. She worked outside the home first as an employee of Sarkes Tarzian (later RCA), then Indiana University and later as an employee of Bloomington Hospital before retiring to spend time with family. She was preceded in death by her father Glenn Thomas and mother Mary Thomas, her husband Homer E. Sylvester, her brother Gary (Buck) Thomas and her son Mark K. Sylvester. Georgia is survived by her brother James (Jim) Thomas of Bloomington, her sons Edward Sylvester, Jr. of Cloverdale and Foris Leon (Lee) Sylvester and wife Stacy Holtzman of Bloomington; sisters, E. Marilyn Harris and husband Grady of Ellettsville, and Jennifer Mills of Bloomington; 18 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren and Georgia loved and was dearly loved by several nieces and nephews. She will be sadly missed by all her knew her -- especially her family. She loved greatly and was loved much. Funeral services will be held at Allen Funeral Home located at 4155 South Old Highway 37, Bloomington, Indiana on Friday, July 9, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. Burial is to follow at Clover Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Allen Funeral Home on Friday, July 9, 2010 from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
