His classmates at SB Central missed his presence at the joyous 50th anniversary reunion last June. We know he would have loved old friends had his health permitted. My family felt so privileged to be your neighbors while you lived in California. Jerry's spirit, intelligence, and compassion were exceeded only by Gina's vivacious personality and love for her family. Hope all can find comfort in his memory. Jerry and Gina were a big part of our lives for many years. They would watch our children, we'd spend outings to include Disneyland, exchange recipes, and the many times they opened their home for family. I will remember Jerry for his personality, conviction of morals and values, love of family, and intelligence in so many areas. He would research gardening, invent something new, make a gourmet meal, reupholster a chair, and all with humility. I really looked forward to spending more time with both of them in the future. Jerry will be sorely missed.

Jerry was a classmate of mine at Central High School in South Bend. We graduated in the class of 1961. His life seemed to have been challenging and successful. My sympathy to each of you in your loss.

Jerry was a valued friend during the time he practiced law here in South Bend. We are the same age and his passing brings home how limited the time is that we all have to enjoy our lives and family. Though I have not had contact with him since he moved away, I write to offer my sincere condolences and sympathy to his enteire family. We lived next door to Jerry and Gina in Huntington Beach. They both were like family to us especially since ours didn't live close. We spent many hours talking to each other "over the wall" in our driveways. Jerry was always talking about his family. I remember him telling me at Christmas time one year that each present under the tree had to have a different wrapping paper. I don't remember the reason but I imagine it was so that everyone would feel special. We were sad to see them both move away but excited that they were moving to be close to their families and as it turned out Jerry got to spend his last years so close to most of you. We offer our condolences to all of you and are glad that you have each other for support and comfort in these very tough times. Our prayers are with your families. Dear Brad, Doug and Michi, I was very sorry to hear of the passing of your father. I always remember Jerry has being a cheerful and attentive friend. He was always willing to help others and gave generously to his friends.

I have a lot of things to remember, but one thing I will never forget is the day he watched me try and drive my brothers stick shift for about 3 minutes before coming across the street to calmly teach me how to not destroy his car. His presence is one I wont ever forget and I know many other people feel the same way. Gina, you are in my heart and on my mind. Much love

Dear family and friends of Jerry, I was fortunate enough to room with Jerry at MacMurray in 1963. He was a good friend, smart and funny. He was also couragious enough to attack me occasionally, though I was a bit bigger than he. I've often wondered about his path after that one fall semester when I knew him. Today I received the "Mac News," and now I know. Though I hadn't seen nor heard from him in the past half cintury, it is still a loss of a very good man. Jerry and Gina have shared many memories with us. We have taken some wonderful vacations to Hawaii and Cabo San Lucas with them over the years..times we will never forget. We can remember a weekend visiting them in Huntington Beach, where Brian and Jerry were knee deep in mud, laughing while trying to fix a leak in the front yard. Those are memories that you never forget. Jerry was a wonderful husband, friend and cook. Always teaching us new things and cooking new Japanese cusine that we had never had. We will miss him dearly!! Our thoughts and prayers to you and your families.
