Grace L. (Shields) Clark

May 20, 1919-April 16, 2011

Grace L. (Shields) Clark, 91, of Bloomington, IN passed away at her residence on April 16, 2011.  She was born in Monroe County on May 20, 1919 to Elza and Mary Ann (May) Shields.

Grace worked for Sarkes Tarzian as an assembler and at Woolworths. Grace was best known to her family as a loving and caring Homemaker.  She enjoyed quilting, knitting, crocheting, and bird watching.  She was also known for baking excellent apple pies.  Grace was a member of Clear Creek Christian Church.

She is survived by her children, Larry R. Clark and his wife Cathy of Ellettsville, Faye Chambers and her husband Ken of Bloomington, Paula Clark of Bloomington, and Marcia Helms of Ellettsville. She is also survived by one sister Belle Deckard of Florida, thirteen grandchildren, twenty seven great grandchildren, and ten great-great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Clark; son, Eddie Clark; brothers, Lee Shields, Elmer Shields, Orville Shields; sisters, Wilma Wilber, Freda Clark, Betty Crane, Charlotte Swift, one grandson, and one great- grand daughter.

Services will be at 1pm Wednesday April 20, 2011 at the Allen Funeral Home, 4155 S. Old State Highway 37, Bloomington, IN.  Visitation will be on Tuesday April 19, 2011 from 4-8pm at the funeral home. There will also be a visitation on Wednesday from 11-1 prior to service time.  Burial will follow at the Valhalla Memory Gardens.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Monroe Hospital.

    I loved my grams. I'm just glad I got to spend some time with her before she went to Heaven. She was saved & believed in the Lord which helps in dealing with her passing. I know I will see her again someday.
