Helen L. Roberts, 93, of Bloomington passed away Friday at the Garden Villa. She was the daughter of Charles E. and Ada L (Morris) Blackwell born on March 27, 1917 in Des Moines, Iowa.  Helen was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Noblesville, IN and also a member of the Kiwanis Club in Cicero, IN.  Helen lived in Bloomington and moved to Indianapolis in 1951. She taught four years in the Washington Township School System and then taught in the Indianapolis Public School System at schools 34, 92 and 15. The last ten years she was a remedial reading teacher retiring in 1979 and moving to Cicero, IN in 1987.  Helen is survived by her two stepchildren Edmund B. Roberts of Caldwell, Idaho and Joan G. Abbey of Florence, Arizona; and three nieces Anna Allender of Bedford, Indiana, Betty Stende of North Dakota and Jenne Earhart of Indianapolis, Indiana. Helen was preceded in death by her parents; husband James E. Roberts, one sister Genevieve Galyan and two nephews Charles Lovejoy and Bob Lovejoy. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at Allen Funeral Home with Mark Brock officiating. Burial will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Crown Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis. Family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
