Jack L. Gates, a true patriot and World War II veteran of the Pacific campaign passed peacefully in his sleep at Golden Living Center October 20th.
Jack was born in Buckley, CA August 31, 1921 to Cliff and Georgia Gates. After service in WW II, he went to work for Evans and Associates in San Francisco for 40 years as a commercial artist. Jack moved to Indiana in 1991 with his wife Carolyn.
Survivors include his twin sister, Jean (George) Waite, half brother George Robinson, half sister Elaine Nobel (CA), son Bill (OH), step-daughters Sheron Palmer (GA) and Margie (Jack) Polk, Bloomington, five grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
Services will be held later in Oakland, CA. Allen Funeral Home of Bloomington is in charge of arrangements.
