Jameson Calhoun
Date Of Birth:July 15, 2010
Date Of Death:January 20, 2011

Jameson M. Calhoun, six months old, passed away Thursday at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis, IN.  He was the son of Jason and Grace Calhoun born on July 15, 2010. Jameson fought a congenital heart defect from birth, enduring thirteen heart surgeries and numerous other surgical procedures. All around him admired his strength and resilience, qualities that enabled the surgeons to perform several procedures not commonly done on infants. He was a very special little boy with a wonderful spirit and will be dearly missed. Jameson is survived by his parents Jason and Grace Calhoun; his three sisters Alexandra age 8, Madeline age 6 and Eleanor age 2; and his grandparents Thomas and Barbara Grace, all of Bloomington, IN. An annual memorial golf tournament is being organized to honor Jameson and to benefit families enduring similar situations in the future.  The first annual tournament will be held April 9, 2011 at Cascades Golf Course.  For information about the tournament, contact Candy Otter at candyotter@yahoo.com. On the same day following the tournament, a reception to celebrate Jameson’s life will be held at the Cascades Golf Course Clubhouse, followed by the Riley Hospital for Children Dance Marathon held at Bloomington High School South. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the memorial golf tournament.  The family also welcomes donations in Jameson’s name to Riley Hospital for Children and the Ronald McDonald House of Indiana.

Dear Jason, Grace and family, I am so deeply saddened by the loss of your son. To be taken from you at such a young age makes our grief pale in comparison to the pain you are feeling, but I had to let you know that we are sharing your loss in our own way. No one knows why bad things happen to those so innocent and whose life has hardly begun. For now it will have to remain the painful mystery that it is. Losses like this can make us challenge our faith; however, this is precisely the time when our faith needs to be its strongest. I am praying that your faith will help you through this very difficult time and help you to know that God's purpose, whatever it may be, is at work. I pray that you will find the strength to get you through your grief and sadness. It will be a pleasure to participate in this April's tournament in Jameson's honor. I am sure the turn-out will be overwhelming. In Friendship, Bob Pfrommer (Big Enis)
