I met your mother in 2000 when she came to me requesting a roommate to share her home. At that time I worked for the Evergreen Institute on Elder Environments and she was living in your grandfather's home on the near west side. I was always so impressed with your mother's ability to find used items for nothing and make her home and garden look beautiful. Your mother had a tough road but she always tried to make lemonade out of lemons. She was a very hard worker.
Later when she developed cancer on her ear I was a sounding board and helped her try to keep her home. When that failed Middle Way came through and found that great little house for her on the hill.
I visited Jean on many Christmas Eve's when I brought simple wrapped gifts to brighten her holiday. She was always grateful for the company.
Your mother loved you dearly. She was very proud of you and shared many stories with me as you traveled through your youth.
I will always remember her fondly.
You may remember my son, Adam Barrows. I believe you attended North High School together.
My thoughts are with you during this difficult time.
Warm wishes,
Janet Barrows
