Jesse B Wells, of Bedford, passed away Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at Stonebridge Healthcare Center.  He was 87 years old.

 Born June 25, 1923 in Monroe County, IN, he was the son of Thomas and Nora (Davis) Wells.  Jesse was a veteran of World War II serving in US Army in the European Theatre.  He returned home and on August 30, 1946 married Pauline Reynolds.  He retired from RCA after 32 years of employment.

 Jesse is survived by his wife of nearly 64 years, Pauline Wells of Bedford; two daughters, Lena Diana Stevens of Bedford and Edna Faye Litaker of Bedford; one brother, Simmie Wells of Indianapolis; two sisters, Myrtle Livingston of Avon, IN and Martha Jane Wells of New York; three grandchildren, Marlena Stevens, Carla Wells and Jessica Giron; seven great grandchildren, Alisha, Josey, Everett, Breanna, Marcella, Isabella and Emelio; and numerous nieces and nephews.

 He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Cashous, Arthur and Henry Clay Wells; and six sisters, Gertie Alexander, Evelyn Steuber, Margaret Underwood, Lillian Wells, Mary Madeline Wells and Ada Belle Wells.

 Funeral services will be on Friday, August 20, 2010 at 1:00 pm at Allen Funeral Home, 4155 S. Old State Rd. 37, with Jim Valentine officiating.  Burial will follow at Clear Creek Cemetery where military rites will be conducted by the Veterans Honor Guard.

 Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4-8 pm at the funeral home.
