Jesse L. Martindale, 77, of Smithville died on Sunday, May 15, 2011 at I.U. Health-Bloomington Hospital. He was born on June 2, 1933 in Greene County the son of Albert and Mildred (Hawkins) Martindale. He retired from Dart Trucking Co. and previously worked for Schilling Trucking, College Mall Shopping Center and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Jess is survived by his wife, Judith (Morgan) Martindale, one daughter, Wilma Cox of Solsberry, six sons; Danny Martindale of Greene Co., Jesse Martindale, II, Rick Martindale, and Rex Martindale, all of Washington, IN, Jim Wojt of Memphis, TN and John Wojt of Indianapolis, one sister, Carolyn Marshall of Arizona and several grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers, infant Roy Eugene Martindale, Willis Martindale and Jack Martindale.

Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Smithville Cemetery with Rev. Dale Kendall officiating. Friends may call at Allen Funeral Home, 4155 S. Old St. Rd. 37 on Thursday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Masonic memorial services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m.
