To John's children and friends, I am so sorry and sad to hear about John's passing. He was my cousin and remember him when I was boy at his dad's shop. I never got to see him much after he left college and moved away. I remember you children when you very very young at aunt Minnie's and uncle Barnes' house. I had hoped so much to see John at our next Lambert Reunion in June. I will always have very warm and fond memories of him from the 1950's and 1960's. God Bless you all. Just wanted to send our condolences to your family. We live at 3448 S. Ashwood Drive and had only met John back in June of 2009 when we purchased our home in The Stands. My younger daughter loved to run out and pet Sadie Mae when she and John were on their walks. I enjoyed chatting with him. What is going to happen to Sadie Mae? The Hetricks (Bill, Carol, Allie, and Gabbie)

I am so sad to hear of John's passing. I knew him through the Bloomington Photography Club. He was fun, funny and an amazing photographer. He was so generous to me (a total newbie) in help with photography and just being an all-around nice person. He will be missed!

It truly doesn't seem like that long ago that we would all gathered on Sunday at Granny & Grandaddy Lambert's in Bandy, a large family with lots of cousins big & small, that created many happy memories that have stayed through the years, although I have only kept up with John through Betty, I am so grateful Betty has reached out to all of us to keep our family ties. My heart felt sympathy and prayers to comfort you in the loss of your loved one. Remembering, Being Grateful for the Time, and Celebrating All the Wonderful Things John's Life has Given to us all. Sincerely w/ Love, your Cousin, Linda Sue

I will miss John's quick wit, he always had a great story or joke to share. It never failed to make me smile when he (and usually Sadie) visited the dealership. We shared a great affinity for twisty roads and all things outdoors.

To John's family and friends, I just learned of John's passing from my fellow photographer and friend, Julia Karr. I am so sad. John was a very dear friend I met through the Bloomington Photography Club. He had a quick wit, and was often the only one who understood my sense of humor. He often volunteered to teach me aspects of photography I didn't understand yet. And, he was always willing to lend an ear when things weren't going well in my life. I've been away from Bloomington 3 years, and had communicated with him through e-mails. I miss him already. The photo posted of him shows his true self.

John was a high school classmate, RHS 1956 and I, along with many other classmates were shocked to hear of John's death. He was at our last class reunion and seemed to enjoy reminiscing yesterdays. Besides treasuring good memories of John, I shall remember his family and loved ones in my prayers. Sylvia Overbay Boyd
