To the family: Before moving to Indiana in 1988, acquaintance with JOHN and MARGE existed due their acqaintance with my parents. For the past twelve years, it has been such a pleasure to know them as faithful brethren in the service of Christ. They both made my work with West Second Street much more enjoyable! Now, they rest together, and their works follow them (Rev. 14:13). Thank you for sharing these two wonderful people! I shall miss them! Mike

To the Gillespie family, we are sorry to hear of your loss. We know John, the son through softball and volleyball, what a great man. We are firm believers that a father is reflected in his son. Therefore, John G must have been a truly remarkable man himself. May God be with you all in this time of sorrow and may memories warm you always. By reading the things he chose to do in life, serving his country and work with youth, I am sure he impacted many people in his 88 years. God Bless. Gina Ingram

To Judy, Jan, John, and Margo and Families, I was so sorry to learn of the loss of your father. I'm sorry to say that I was not aware that you had lost your mother last year as well. Please know that I am thinking about all of you in your time of sorrow. I remember staying overnight at your house in grade school and I felt welcomed by both your mom and your dad. Through my school years, I remember your dad being very active in scouting; he was still a legend even when my own boys were part of the Boy Scouts which came many years later. Through the years, as I became a teacher and took my classes to Peden Farm each year, I would see your parents there being active and eager participants, still working with children and sharing their time and knowlegde. Your parents will be missed by the whole community in Bloomington. Both your mother and your father will be remembered warmly.

It is with the greatest saddness that we learned of John's passing. He was such a gentle and caring individual, and it has been our great joy to have been his and Marge's neighbors these last several years. While there are no words to lessen the grief you all must be sharing, please know that we are praying that God may be with you in a special way during this very painful time. With deepest sympathies, Stephen Chambers & David Wade
