My daughter Melanie Hodson McCabe was a good friend of Joni's during their high school years. Joni spent a lot of time at our house in Ellettsville. I remember when they all came in getting ready to go to prom...Joni, Melanie, Jamie, Joni, Amy.... I cann't remember all of them.Having two daughters of my own I feel your pain of loss. Our family was blessed to have had Joni in our lives. She will be missed but we have memories that will keep us going. God will guide you through the times when times are going rough.... Let Him carry you when you cannt go on... I pray that His peace will come to you and give you peace. May God richly bless you.... Paul and Judy Hodson Myers (Melanie and Michelle Hodson mom)

I was deeply saddened to hear about the death of Joni. You have been in our thoughts and prayers. I have always had such fond childhood memories of Joni & your family. Joni pestering Chad & I while we were trying to play catch. Doing "little sister" things I now see my own daughter do to her older brother. Joni was a sweet, happy kid. May God bless you and the family during this time and always, Kevin

My heartfelt sympathy extends to not only Joni's family, but to the many lives she has touched. I was friends with her in high school and she was such a smart, driven, fun girl to be around. Her smile was contagious and she had a love for life. It saddens me to know that this past several years she had many struggles and pains. But now, those are over and she is an angel over all us rejoicing in the Lord. I was unable to attend her services due to illness, but please know that all of you have been in my thoughts and prayers. We all have many beautiful memories of her that we will treasure. With love, Stephanie & Aaron Hancock

I am so very sorry for the loss to Joni's family and the community that we shared. I have been deeply saddened by this loss and words seems so trivial and cannot begin to describe the feelings. Joni, you have been on my mind daily and I will continue to hold her memory in my heart. I've heard so much about her smile that last few days, and I agree, but I would give anything to hear her beautiful laugh one more time. She was an inspiration to many through the strong faith she carried in God. I will remember you always, Joni. Love, Linda R.
