Karen was a most amazing person! I knew her as a caregiver to my in-laws, who are in their 90s and were battling a serious illness at the time she came to be their helper. No one was ever as sensitive, smart, thoughtful, patient, and wise as Karen in her dealings with this couple. A great listener, she always made sure that their wishes were considered and respected. She was also an extraordinarily bright and positive, while low-key and steady, force in their lives. They and her whole family will miss her sorely.

I first met Karen a year ago, when she became the primary caregiver for my mother, who had just been diagnosed with lymphoma. Karen was our anchor as my mom went through chemotherapy, surgery, and radiation. These were difficult, often chaotic times. Karen always knew what to do. She had amazing rapport with both my mother and father, who is 94. My mother, now also 94, defied the odds and survived both cancer and the treatment. I have no doubt that Karen’s dedication, skill, hard work, caring, and judgment had much to do with that. The loss of Karen is immeasurable to my family. Knowing her and having her in our lives for as long as we did was a privilege and a blessing. I will be forever grateful.

Mike, Paula, Lana & Jay - I'm am terribly sorry to hear about Karen. It's been many years since I've seen all of you, but I can still see all of you as clearly as if it were yesterday. Karen was one of my very best friends growing up, and I treasure all of my memories of her. She was always such a beautiful, loving & caring person, and I am truly at a loss of words to describe what our friendship meant to me. She was fortunate to have such a loving family, and the world is now missing one of it's Angels on earth.
