Kenny Zike, 71, ofBloomington, passed away peacefully at home
November 20, 2011 with his family by his side. Kenny was born
January 3, 1940 to Glen and Helen (Blackwell) Zike inLawrence
County,Indiana. He graduated from Bloomington High
School in 1958. After high school he enlisted in the air force.
After his service he worked at Burkhart Floor Covering. Kenny
established Economy Floor Covering in 1966. He was a lifelong
farmer and he and his sons ran Kenny Zike Excavating. Kenny was a
charter member of the Indian Creek Lions Club, on the board of
directors of the White River Co-op for several years, and had been
involved with the Monroe County Soil Conservation District. He was
of the Christian faith. Kenny married Vicki Culbert on
September 4, 1964. They were blessed with three children Kevin,
Krystal and Kyle. He loved spending time with his family and
enjoyed breakfast on Saturdays at Cloverleaf with friends. He was a
hard worker and took pride in a job well done. He is survived
by his loving wife Vicki Zike; his son Kevin Zike and his wife
Trisha; his daughter Krystal Prince and her husband Joey; his son
Kyle Zike and Amber Mullis; his mother Helen Zike; his two sisters
Joyanne Hawkins and Glenda Livingston; his grandchildren Colton
Imhausen, Molly, Madison and Maggie Zike; and several nieces and
nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Glen
Zike and brother Jerry Zike. Funeral services will be held
10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at Allen Funeral
Home. Burial will follow at Clear Creek Cemetery. Family will
receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. In
lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Indian Creek Lions
Club.
