Kenneth R. Deckard, 87, of Bloomington, IN passed away on August 2, 2010.  He was born on March 12, 1923 to Byron and Sally (Cardwell) Deckard in Harrodsburg, IN.  Kenneth was an Army veteran of WWII where he was stationed in Africa.  He  worked at the I.U. Physical Plant in Maintenance and was a member of the Sherwood Oaks Christian Church.  Kenneth enjoyed ice skating and hunting.  

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Georgia (Binkley) Deckard, Twin sister; Kathleen Walls and Joan Skirvin of Martinsville, IN; Nieces and Nephews; B.J. Walls of Bloomington, IN, Dianne Levenberg of Bloomington, Pam Skirvin of Martinsville,  Marlene Rice of Bloomington, Susie Walls and her husband Phil, Becky Stephens and husband Dave of Martinsville.  He is also survived by Nephews; Gary Walls and his wife Becky of Bloomington, Bob Doty and his wife Carolyn of Bloomington, Jack Doty and his wife Denise of Yucca Valley, CA, and Dennis Skirvin and his wife Diane of Kansas.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents and Brother Wayne Deckard.

Services will be 2pm, Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at the Allen Funeral Home.  Visitation will be from 1-2pm prior to services.  Burial will follow at the Valhalla Memory Gardens.

Memorial Contributions can be made to the Sherwood Oaks Christian Church or Hospice of Bloomington Hospital.

    Dear Georgia, I am so sorry to hear of Kenneth's passing....I remember you and he were at my mothers wake and burial...Esther...and I so appreciated it...Also you were so nice to come to me at my salon...Reece and Co....when I was there. I pray that God will give you the help you need to get through this....The worst part of being out here is that we are unable to be there to support our family at times like these...Know that you are thought of and loved and in our prayers.
