Lona Belle Axsom, 87, of Bloomington passed away peacefully on Tuesday at Garden Villa. She was the daughter of Silas and Melissa (Butcher) Frye, born on August 16, 1922 in Monroe County. She worked several years for the Glass Factory and Showers Brother Factory before retiring from Mr. Leonard’s Cleaners. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her daughter Martha Clemens and husband Albert of Bloomington; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren; and one brother Tilford Frye of Bloomington. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Donald Axsom; two sisters, Zelma Ault and Goldie Cain; four brothers, Thornton Frye, Cleo Frye, Fred Frye and Ernest Frye; and one infant grandson. Graveside services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday at Clear Creek Cemetery with Pastor Darin Bowlen officiating. Family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Allen Funeral Home. The family is saddened by their loss, but thankful she is home with Jesus.
