Lowell K. Rush, of Bloomington, passed away on Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at Monroe Hospital.  He was 72 years old.

 Born October 28, 1937 in Bloomington, IN he was the son of Kenneth Robert and Ruby (Cantrell) Rush.  He was a 1956 graduate of Bloomington High School and a veteran of the United States Air Force.  He was a 31 year technician with Servicemaster, retiring in 1998.  Lowell was an avid reader, enjoyed auto racing and working in his yard.  He took great joy in spending time with his family and attending family reunions and gatherings.  He was a member of the Clear Creek Christian Church for over 50 years.

 Lowell is survived by his wife of over 47 years, Bessie M. (Lyon) Rush of Bloomington; two sons, Eric Rush and his wife D’Lee of McCordsville, IN and Deric Rush and his wife Carrie of Camby, IN; three sisters, Carole Rush of Bloomington, Naola Frye and husband Don of Bloomington and Gloria Sole’ of Ocala, FL; a brother, Stephen Rush and his wife Marcia of Bloomington; three grandchildren, Aaron Rush and Austin Rush of McCordsville and McKenna Rush of Camby;  a step grandson Jesse Abrams of Camby and numerous nieces and nephews.

 He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister in childhood, Roxanna Rush.

 Funeral services will be on Friday, July 16 at 2:00 pm at Allen Funeral Home, 4155 S. Old State Rd. 37, with Pastor Don Rader officiating.  Burial will follow at Clear Creek Cemetery where military rites will be conducted by the Veterans Honor Guard.

 Visitation will be held on Thursday from 6-8 pm at the funeral home and on Friday one hour prior to services.

 In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Kidney Foundation or the Gideons.

    Bessie, Please know how much I cared and respected Lowell. He was as good a man as they get...worked hard(too hard), was honest and I could always trust him. We worked 10 years together @ Servicemaster, I could not have done it without him. If I do not get by, I know you and the boys will understand because Mother passed away yesterday.     I was really happy to see that Lowell was able to bring his whole family to Church last Father's Day. He was a good man, that's all I know.
