Marian Ellen Friesel
January 31, 1924 – January 5, 2011
Marian E. Friesel, 86, of Bloomington, died in her sleep on Wednesday at the Brown County Health Center.
Born in Glenwood Iowa, the daughter of Glen Hall and Edna (Leet) Hall. She was a member of the St. Charles Parish in Bloomington, IN.
In her youth, she worked at Hillman’s Bakery in Chicago, where she met Walter A. Friesel, her husband of 64 years,. She was a homemaker, loving wife and mother. She supported several family owned laundry businesses in the Chicago area as a secretary and accountant. She later worked until her retirement as an agent for Eastern Airlines and traveled with her husband around much of the world.
Survivors include her two sons, Dennis L. Friesel and his wife Donna, of Bloomington, IN, and Michael H. Friesel, of Humble, TX, four grandchildren, Michael Clark Friesel, Eric Walter Friesel, Robin Anne (Friesel) McQuinneth, and Cody Friesel, six great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and two sisters.
Services will be at St. Charles Church on Saturday, January 8 at 12:30 pm with Rev. William Stumpf officiating. Viewing will be from 10 am to noon at the Allen Funeral Home prior to services. Entombment will follow at the Valhalla Memorial Gardens in Bloomington Indiana.
