Martha June “Aunt Martha” Nikirk, 74, of Bloomington passed away on Friday, Nov. 12, 2010 at Golden Living Center in Bloomington. She was born on April 23, 1936 in Bloomington to John and Eva (Litz) Nikirk. She was a graduate of Bloomington High School and retried from the former RCA of Bloomington after 32 years of service.
Martha was a member of United Pentecostal International and affiliated with the Family Life and Worship Center on Fox Hollow Road near Bloomington.
She leaves behind one sister, Joyce Ann (Nikirk) Colbert of Bloomington, three nephews; Michael (Jan) Colbert of Bloomington, R.M. (Linda) Colbert, Jr. of Bedford, and Steve (Marsha) Colbert of New Albany, two nieces; Beth Ann (Jeff) Erdman and Gale Leigh (Paul) Williams, both of Bloomington. She also leaves behind five great nephews, six great nieces, three great, great nieces and four great, great nephews and one sister-in-law, Wanda Nikirk.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, William Nikirk and Charles (Betty) Nikirk.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Allen Funeral Home, 4155 S. Old St. Rd. 37 in Bloomington with Rev. Tracy Noel officiating. Burial will be at Clear Creek Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
