Martha Louise Mitchell, 88, of Bloomington passed away July 10, 2010 at Garden Villa Nursing Home. She was born April 25, 1922 in Bloomington to Ella Louise and Jack Wagner. Martha is survived by a daughter Cindy Seidl and her husband Gary McManus of Fort Mill, South Carolina; a son John Adams of Bloomington; granddaughters Jill Erickson of Terre Haute, Susan Shinault and her husband Brian of Knoxville, Tennessee; great granddaughter Amara Erickson of Terre Haute; sister Judith Smith and her husband Bill of Louden, Tennessee; nephews Pete Cook and his wife Cheryl of Bloomington, Tim Cook and his wife DeDe of Bloomfield, Indiana; niece Sue Leinenweber and her husband Pete of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; sister-in-law Alice Collins of Hoffman Estates, Illinois, and many other beloved relatives. Martha was preceded in death by her second husband Fred Mitchell; first husband Fred Adams, an infant daughter Rebecca Jo Adams, her parents and three sisters, JoAnn Cook, Peggy Pringle and Patsy Meadows. She retired from the Indiana University Post Office after 18 years of service. There she met many people, including a best friend Martha Boren who sat with her and her family during her final few days. Martha was actively involved in the Ladies Elks Auxiliary, was an avid reader, lover of playing Bingo, and walking on the Florida beaches. Memorial Services for Martha will be held Wednesday July 14, 2010 at 12:00 O’clock noon at the Allen Funeral Home 4155 South Old Highway 37. Friends may call at Allen Funeral Home on Wednesday as well from 11:00AM until the time of the service.
