Mary Jane Jacobs, 88, of Bloomington died on Monday evening, June 28^th at her residence following an extended illness.  She was born on October 13, 1921 in West Baden, Indiana the daughter of Charles C. and Minnie (Dillinger) Atkinson.  She was a retired secretary with the Southern Indiana Conference of the United Methodist Church and a member of Arlington United Methodist Church in Bloomington.  Mary Jane was also a member of the United Methodist Women and volunteered at the Opportunity House.

          Survivors include one daughter, Janet Sue Jacobs of Bloomington, one son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Nancy Jacobs of Bloomington, two grandsons; Eric (Jackie) Jacobs of Ft. Wayne and Ryan Jacobs of Ellettsville, one granddaughter, Carole (Shane) Conner of Ft. Wayne and one great grandson, Jude Kerverin.

          She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion L. Jacobs in 1999, two sisters and one brother.

          Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 1, 2010 at Arlington United Methodist Church, 1820 W. Arlington Rd. with Rev. James Roach officiating.  Entombment will be at Valhalla Memory Gardens.  Friends may call Wednesday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Allen Funeral Home, 4155 S. Old St. Rd. 37 in Bloomington and at the church one hour preceding the services on Thursday.
