Maudeline Mitchell, 98, of Bloomington passed away Friday morning, April 1, 2011 at Bell Trace Health and Living Center in Bloomington.  She was born in Monroe County the daughter of Albert and Nettie (Shields) Jacobs and attended Smithville Schools.  She was a retired employee of Eagle Signal Co. in Davenport, Iowa, a company which made traffic signals and timing devices.  She retired after 27 years of service

Maudeline was a member of New Unionville Baptist Church, enjoyed crocheting, working in her flower garden and observing nature, particularly birdwatching.  Above all and foremost, she enjoyed her family, sharing with them unconditional love.

She is survived by seven grandchildren; Dennis Mitchell of Geneseo City, IL, Linda Downum of Arkansas, Sandra McClean of Moline, IL, Debra Koenig of Columbus, OH, Margo Machmer of Rock Island, Il, Catherine Dinneen of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Doris Fincher of Cary, N.C., ten great grandchildren and thirteen great, great grandchildren.  She is also survived by one sister, Mona Rosa Hisey of Sacramento, CA and one brother, Roger Jacobs of Bloomington.

            She was preceded in death by her husband, James Mitcthell in 1967, two sons, Dale Mitchell and Charles Ivan Mitchell, two sisters, Millie Edwards and Margaret Corbin, and four brothers, James Jacobs, Andrew Jacobs, William Jacobs and Eugene Jacobs.

            Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 4^th at Allen Funeral Home with Rev. Les Rovenstine officiating.  Burial will be at Clear Creek Cemetery.  Friends may call today from 2:00-6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
