Maxine Gavin Arellano, 91, of Bloomington, formerly from Merrillville and Gary, Indiana died early Friday, March 19, 2010. She was born in Terre Haute, January 10, 1919 to William Gavin and Lydia Niccum Gavin. Maxine graduated from Gary’s Emerson High School in 1938. She worked as a beautician and was a homemaker who loved to crochet. She loved to dance, enjoyed family gatherings and loved her great grand children. On July 17, 1943, she married Jesse Arellano. She will be missed by one daughter Linda Redding (James) Nashville, Indiana, two grand daughters Lynda C Hubbard (Brian) of New Whiteland, Indiana and Elizabeth A. Eaton (Brian) of Brownsburg, Indiana, four great grandchildren Elaina Hubbard, Tiernan Hubbard, Audrey Eaton, David Eaton, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Jesse, her father, William Gavin, her mother Lydia Niccum Gavin, her brother Willard Gavin, and her sister Sally Gavin Monroe. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 pm Thursday at St. Charles Catholic Church, with Father William Stumpf, VF officiating. Burial will follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens in Bloomington. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at St. Charles.
