Michael F. Hofmann, 71 of Bloomington, passed away at his residence early Wednesday morning, July 28, 2010. Originally from Evansville, Indiana Michael was born there to Sylvester and Fern Herbert Hofmann on December 6, 1938. Michael was a graduate of the University of Evansville and spent his professional career with both Midstates Appraisal Group and the Siemans Corporation from where he retired. He served his country proudly in the United States Air Force from 1957 until 1962; was a past grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus and a 4^th degree Knight. Michael was also a member of St Charles Borromeo Catholic Church where he served as a Eucharistic Minister. Michael leaves behind his wife of nearly 50 years, Barbara Klingle Hofmann, also originally of Evansville; a son Dan Hofmann and his wife Jodie, and a daughter Rebecca, her husband Mark along with their children Erin and Ethan. He was preceded in death by his parents. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Michael on Saturday July 31, 2010 at 11:00AM at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 2222 East Third Street, Bloomington. Visitation will also be held at St. Charles on Saturday from 10:00AM until the time of the Mass at 11:00AM. Allen Funeral Home 4155 South Old Highway 37 is handling the arrangements.
