Mildred I. Mobley, 93, of Bloomington passed away quietly the morning of March 18, 2011 at I.U. Health-Bloomington Hospital. She was born on December 15, Thomas L. and Hattie E. (Poe) Haley. She had previously worked at the Bloomington Hospital before working at Sarkes Tarzian Corp. and RCA of Bloomington prior to her retirement. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Clear Creek Ward and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Boulder, CO.
Survivors include two daughters, Shirley Stangas of Bloomington and Phyllis (James) Harper of Solsberry, ten grandchildren; Meladie (Joe) Mercurio, James (Renee’) Harper, Jr., Harmonie (Larry) Roth, Cindy (Mike) Stone, Kim Ray, Sherry Bordeaque, Glenn Hewitt, Jeff (Marjann) Sowders, Stephanie York, and Cheryl (Jason) Brown . Also surviving are twenty-one great grandchildren and thirty-six great, great grandchildren.
Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbert D. “Merle” Mobley, one daughter, Paula Hewitt, one grandson, Robin Sowders and one great, great grandson, Lucky Sowders.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 22nd at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 4235 W. Third St. in Bloomington. Bishop Jason Francis will officiate. Friends may call at Allen Funeral Home, 4155 S. Old St. Rd. 37 on Monday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and prior to the services at the church on Tuesday.
