Gordon and family,we are very saddened to hear of Phil's passing. He was a good man and a good friend who we cared about very much. He never told me about his singing career, which is kind of ironic since I have been playing music my whole life, we had more in common than I even knew about. One of Phil's favorite photos is hanging in the Pizzaria of Steve Alford holding the NCAA trophy after IU had beaten Syracuse at the Superdome, he was a good photographer. Phil was one of the first people I called when my son, Crosby was born and when we came home from the hospital he was one of the first people to visit Crosby and bring him a little gift which I still have and will never get rid of.Phil was a kind man and we loved him so much,he will be sadly missed, sincerely, Dave Webb

Very sorry to hear of Phil's passing. He was a kind and gentle man who cared about everyone he knew. His family was large. He also had a great many interest. Photography allowed him to capture sports, people, music and another hobby we both shared, an interest in antique autos. Phil remembered the details. He was a joy to be around. I will miss Phil Coffin. Tim Lloyd
