Robert “Bobby Joe” Vaught, age 78 of Bloomington, passed away Monday November 1, 2010 at the Monroe Hospital. Bobby      Joe was born May 24, 1932 in Sanders, Indiana to Jackson and Agantha Deckard Vaught. He spent his professional career in the stone masonry and brick laying industry firstly working with various co-owners and eventually with his son, Wayne. Bobby Joe was a past Business Agent with the local Bricklayers Union where he, family and friends were an important part of the stone work for Indiana University, High Schools and local business's. He was also a member of Sanders Pentecostal Church, a member of the Monroe County Saddle Club, a member of the Elks Lodge in Bloomington, and a member of the American Quarter Horse Association. He served his country proudly in the United States Navy from August of 1950 until June of 1954. Bobby Joe was very appreciative of the camaraderie he shared with fellow horse lovers throughout the mid west and was equally fond of the time he spent bird hunting with numerous family members and friends. He leaves behind his wife of nearly 59 years, Barbara Gilbo Vaught of Bloomington; son Wayne L. Vaught and his wife Jody of Springville; granddaughters Buffie R. Vaught of West Lafayette, Indiana, and Brandy L. Albano and her husband Jon of Chesapeake, Virginia; and great grandchildren Cora Mink, Samantha, Abigail and Daniel Albano. Many thanks, to family, friends, and healthcare professionals for their loving care. Bobby Joe was preceded in death by his parents, his step father Howard Edwards, and a sister Joan Vaught. Funeral services will be held Friday November 5, 2010 at 1:00PM at Sanders Pentecostal Church 6490 South Fairfax Road. Burial will follow the funeral in the Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday November 4, 2010 from 4:00PM until 8:00PM at Allen Funeral Home 4155 South Old Highway 37. Friends may also call at the church on Friday from 12 Noon until the time of the service at 1:00PM. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Sanders Pentecostal Church.
