Robert “Buck” Mullis, 61, of Bloomington passed away Sunday at Bloomington Hospital. He was the son of Robert L. Mullis and Caroline (Fulford) Mullis Elliot, born on February 23, 1949 in Bloomington. Buck was an ordained minister. He was assistant police Chaplin for the Monroe County Jail and Chaplin for the Blue Knights. He was also a correctional officer for the Monroe County Jail. He is survived by his wife Sylvia Mullis; six children Cathy S. Kern, Kevin Lee Fulcher, Scott Mullis, Sandra T. Robinson (Paul), Anna Caroline Mullis and Michael D. Mullis; his mother Caroline Elliot; six siblings Terry D. Mullis (Diane), Cheryl A. Welch (Mike), Timothy D. Mullis (Susan), Vernon D. Mullis (Kathy), Diana S. Fisher (David) and Mark A. Mullis; his sister-in-law Denise Mullis; eight grandchildren Dustin, Jonathon, Ivan, Sara, Julia, Andy, Enzo and Annie; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and one brother Justin C. Mullis. Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 25, 2010 at Allen Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Mitchell and Pastor Bud Sullivan officiating. Burial will follow at Simpson Chapel Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
