Robert Eugene Burris, 64, of Bloomington passed away Thursday at IU
Health Bloomington. He was born on August 28, 1947 in Bloomfield,
Indiana, the son of Gene F. Burris and Clara (Mathis) Burris
Borders. Robert served in the United States Army during
Vietnam. He is survived by his son Robert E. Burris Jr.
(Jennylynn);
his daughter Alisha Burris (Jeremy Boller); four grandchildren
Mallory, Makayla, Savanna and Colby; four brothers Steve Burris,
Mike Burris (Sharie), Jim Burris (Eula) and Chuck Burris; three
sisters Donna Burke (Chris), Armetta Hudson (Eddie) and Sherry
Lewis; two aunts Barbara Martin (Glen) and Betty Mathis; twelve
nieces and nephews and twenty great nieces and great
nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, maternal
grandparents James and Grace Mathis, paternal grandparents Elza and
Cordia Burris and one nephew Raymond Burris. Funeral services
will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at Allen Funeral Home
with Jim Burris officiating. Interment will take place at Valhalla
Memory Gardens. Family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Monday at
the funeral home.
