Dear Mnich Family, A few years ago I had Dr. Wayne as my professor for sign language class. I will never forget the first day of class. He told of his years as a teacher, surviving cancer himself and his devotion to his wife Ruth and children. Then, he passed out a xerox copy of the bird trying to eat a frog with a caption underneath reading "Don't Ever Give Up." (I still have that xerox copy in my own office reminding me every day not to give up.) My own father had passed away not long before Dr. Wayne class, along with a lot of other personal problems I had at that time. But because of Dr. Wayne I started healing myself and look foward to his classes, because he was very inspired person that enjoyed teaching. Later on, when Ruth came to our facility, I was even more glad I had taken his class to help Ruth once in a while with her needs, whenever I could. Though I only work part-time at Bell Trace, I would try and go and see how she was doing when I arrived at work. And boy did she love her coffee and "Ruffle" chips. haha. There were a couple of times when Bell Trace was under a storm warning and we had to get the patients out of the rooms as a precaution. Going up and down the halls I gave blankets outs and snacks for the patients. Ruth was very understanding always smiling every time I came around. I would sign to her "Thank-you for being so patient with me. She just smiled and said, "Your a good person." I thanked her and not long afterwards helped her back along with others to their rooms when the storm was clear and we knew it was safe. Like Dr. Wayne, I was very inspired by her courage and strenght she gave during her illness. She was a very special lady, and one I will never forget. I am so sorry to here of your loss but feel fortunate enough to have known your family. God Bless You All, as my prayers and thoughts go out to you. Sincerely, Diana Lynn Robinson Former Sign Language Student/Receptionist at Bell Trace Health and Living Center.

Dear Family, I know that you won't know who I am but I would like to offer my condolences to all of you at this time. Her mother and my mother were first cousins. Nancy lives in Ahoskie and I see her from time to time. She was at our Lowe family reunion on July 4th. She is such a special lady. I remember Carolyn as a child when we would have the Lowe ancestrial reunion at Aunt Effie's home in Aulander. She was just a couple of years older than me. I remember her as a beautiful teenager.

Dear Family, You probably won't know who I am and I'm sorry that I didn't get to know Carolyn. If she was anything like her mother, Nancy, she surely must have been a treasure. My father, Woodrow Lowe was Nancy's first company. Please accept my sincere condolences in your time of sorrow.
