Ruth Emeline Southern Eads, age 88 of Bloomington passed away early Sunday morning July 24, 2011 at IU Health Bloomington Hospital. She was born August 14, 1922 in Bloomington to Roma And Alice Deckard Southern. Ruth worked in manufacturing for 18 years at Sarkes Tarzian. She leaves behind her husband of 71 years Elmer Douglas Eads of Bloomington; son Ronald Gene Eads and his wife Jeanie of Bedford' daughter Carolyn Kay Miller and her husband Dan of Springville; daughter Rogenia Heichelbech Cox of Bloomington; son Douglas Burton Eads and his wife Brenda of Bloomington; twin sisters Maudlean McNeal and Audlean Prather of Bedford and sister Marie Freeman and her husband Roy also of Bedford. Ruth was the proud granny to 13 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren who also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Eugene Southern. Funeral services for Ruth will be held Wednesday July 27, 2011 at 11:00AM at Allen Funeral Home 4155 South Old Highway 37. Pastor Greg Eads will officiate. Burial will follow in the Knights of Pythias Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday July 26, 2011 from 4:00PM unitl 8:00PM, also at Allen Funeral Home.
