It is with sincere sadness that I learned of Terre's death. She was secretary for Interlibrary Services at I.U. when I was head of the department. I remember her as a model employee and a genuinely kind, loving and caring person. I wish to extend heartfelt condolences to the family. May she rest in peace. To the Family, Terre was the kind of person everyone should be. She loved her family, her friends, and her God. She never met a stranger, befriending all she met. Kind to all in every way.She will always have a special place in my heart for 2 big reasons. She dearly loved and was loved by my Grandmother, Dola Sympson. And so many years ago, in 1969, she went to the Altar with me the night I was Baptised. I have always counted her as a friend and will miss her for the rest of my days. I truly am sorry for your loss and may God bless you all and give you comfort in this time of sorrow.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your dear mother & wife. She was so loved. I can remember growing up that she always had a smile on her face and we could go to her if need be. I worked with Terre years ago. She had an endearing personality. Every one who knew her would consider her passing a loss.

Terre was the nicest and sweetest lady! She always had a smile on her face and in her heart. Prayers go out to her family.

Faith, Family and Friends. Terre exemplified the true meaning of faith, family and friends and like a ray of sunshine was able to shine her love and caring nature to all. Growing up and through our years in 4-H we are so very thankful to earn the respect of parents like Barry and Terre and to continue the friendship through the last 20+ years. I was so thankful to have her not only come to our wedding but to be my photographer, taking so many cherished pictures of our special day. Another generation brings our families together to share in good times and the making of good memories with family. Words just do not express this interim of loss and grief while at the same time peace and joy for her everlasting life. We are sadden by your loss.

Barry and family, I called today and found out about Terre's passing. I just want you all to know I send to you my thoughts and prayers. I am going to miss my special friend so much. Dear Gretchen, Cristal and Mecca, I am so sorry for the loss of your mother. I know she had to be a wonderful mother because she raised the three of you. I am so sad to hear of Terre's passing. We had wonderful times as children. Living close we could walk to each others homes. The memories we shared will never be forgotten. We remember Terre as being such a gracious, kind, and warm hearted lady. Our daughter, Erica, really liked Terre, the few short times she met her. Terre sent many cards and gifts to Erica over Erica's four years of illness. We truly appreciated all Terre did; especially her spiritual support. Our prayers go out to the Elkins family for such a great loss.

Barry, I was so sad to hear of your wife's passing. Although I didn't know your wife that well, the thing I remember most about her was how kind and considerate she was of others. Speaking from first hand experience, support from friends and the passing of time will help you heal.
