Virginia B. Dorsey, 96, of Bloomington died Thursday morning at Monroe Hospital.  She was born in Spencer, West Virginia the daughter of Preston and Lydia Catherine (Starr) Webb.  She previously worked at the McNicol Pottery Co. in Clarksburg, W.V. and was a homemaker.  Her priorities in her life however were her family, sharing poetry with her children and grandchildren.  She was the “hub” of the family, seeing to it that the family would gather together whenever the occasion would allow it.  She was a friend to all, truly enjoying her life with those she loved.

          Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Alice and Willard White of St. John’s, FL and Louise and Joe Shelton of Bloomington, one daughter-in-law,  Shirley Garvin of Bloomington, one sister, Juanita Harthorn of Morganton, WV, thirteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and five great, great grandchildren.

          She was preceded in death by her first husband, Hoy E. Garvin, her second husband, Oscar Dorsey, two sons; Hoy D. Garvin and Samuel E. Garvin, one grandson, Dennis Garvin and several brothers and sisters.

          Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday at Allen Funeral Home, 4155 S. Old St. Rd. 37 in Bloomington with Paul Shelton, Rev. Mel Linville and Don Garvin officiating.  Burial will be at Clear Creek Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home one prior to services on Saturday.
