W. Otho “Pap” Funkhouser, 92 of Bloomington passed away Wednesday at his residence. He was the son of William Otto and Libby Ethel (Fullerton) Funkhouser born on June 19, 1917 in Monroe County, Indiana.Otho served in the United States Army during WWII. He was a member of the Clear Creek Christian Church and previous board member. He also was a 60 year board member for Clear Creek Cemetery and a member of Good Sam Club.Otho owned and operated Funkhouser & Johnson Trucking for 50 years and he also worked at Crane Naval Surface Welfare center for 28 years.Otho is survived by his daughter, Deloris Ann Brinegar of Unionville, IN; his son, Billy Joe Funkhouser of Las Vegas, Nevada; two sisters, Hazel Fidler of Bloomington, IN and Margaret Stansifer of New Albany, IN; four grandson Tony, Mark, Jody and Jay Brinegar; one granddaughter Sandra Thiringer; nine great grandchildren Patrick, Charlotte, Christopher, Erika, Jacob, Adam and Abby Brinegar; Megumi and Maika Thiringer; one great great granddaughter Zaidee Brinegar; several nieces and nephews; and many wonderful caregivers.Otho was preceded in death by his parents; wife Thelma Irene Funkhouser; son Warren Leroy Funkhouser; sister Dorothy Gates and brother Marvin William Funkhouser.Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 20, 2010 at Allen Funeral Home with Leroy Rothrock officiating. Burial will be at Clear Creek Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by the Veterans Honor Guard. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday and 12-2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
