Wilburn L. “Buck” Rayle, 86, of Bedford and formerly of Monroe County passed away on Friday, March 4, 2011 at Westview Nursing and Rehab in Bedford.  He was born in Smithville on August 8, 1924 the son of Harley and Bessie (Wampler) Rayle .  Buck was self-employed and prior to his retirement was a contract news carrier for the Bloomington Herald Telephone (Herald-Times).  He worked with the newspaper for 23 years.  He was also a member of Sanders Pentecostal Church.

            Survivors include his of 69 years, Emma (Puett) Rayle of Bedford, one daughter and son-in-law,  Sue and Jim Dousch of Bedford, two sons and a daughter-in-law, Tom and Judy Rayle and James Rayle, all of Bedford, five grandchildren; Susan A. Burns, Kelly D. Rayle, Faron R. Burns, Tracey Smith and Crystal Thornton, eleven great grandchildren and one great, great grandson.  He is also survived by two sisters; Doris Polley and Trucilla Frye, both of Bloomington.

            He was preceded in death by one grandson, Wesley Scott Burns and one brother, Donald Rayle.

            Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday at the Sanders Pentecsostal Church with Rev. Joe Nelson officiating.  Burial will be at Clear Creek Cemetery where Military Graveside Rites will be conducted by the Veterans Honor Guard.  Friends may call at Allen Funeral Home on Sunday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and at the church on Monday one hour preceding the services.

            Memorial contributions may be made to the Sanders Pentecostal Church Building Fund.  Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.allenfuneralhome.org

    I was Scott's best friend. I remember Buck when Scott and I used to visit all the time! He was always very kind to us. We caused a lot of trouble back then and he used to get a "kick" out of our antics. Sorry for your loss. He will be missed as Scott is.
