Bill Workman, 55, of Bloomington passed away peacefully at home in the loving care of his wife Michelle. Bill was born in Bloomington Indiana and graduated from Bloomington South High School in 1974. After graduation Bill enlisted in the Army where he was stationed in South Korea patrolling the DMZ. After coming stateside he was stationed in Lawton OK until he was discharged in 1980. Bill made Oklahoma City his residence and was principal owner in an oil equipment supply company and a minority owner in another. He also established B&B an ATV accessory company with a partner. During his time in Oklahoma City he became amateur champion 3-wheeler rider sponsored by Coors Light.

In 1986 Bill returned to Bloomington and he and his father William E. Workman transformed the old Self Motel on S. Old 37 into a spacious house. Bill began working for IU in maintenance. He worked out of the Physical Plant working in heating and cooling and served as a union rep. While working for IU Bill added significantly to his group of life long friends who he loved and admired.

Bill was preceded in death by his mother Ruby (Watson) Workman and his Father William E. Workman. He is survived by his loving wife Michelle (Gardner) Workman whom he wed June 28, 2005. Son Nicholas E. Workman of Bloomington, daughter Megan Alapati of North Las Vegas Nevada, his Aunt-Mom Norma Workman of Bloomington and stepbrothers R. Joe Myers (wife Caroline) of Bloomington and Ronald E. Myers of El Paso Texas, also survives him. His much-loved grandchildren Kaleah and Noa Alapati of North Las Vegas also survive him as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Bill was always quick to talk about how proud he was of his son Nick's accomplishments and how much he loved his daughter's children Kaleah and Noa.

Bill was an avid Coke, Hot Wheels and antique collector and cherished his 1969 Rally Sport Z-28 Camaro.

Bill was a man of faith and was a member of Stoneybrook Community Church of God. He had an amazingly upbeat attitude for someone who became paralyzed and bedfast and was quick to praise a friend or play a round of Tiger Woods golf almost to the very end.

My thoughts and prayers are with your family. Bill was one of my closest friends back in High School and College. We had some awesome times riding motorcycles, going to the racetracks in Indiana, skipping school once in a while and doing some crusing and racing in some cool muscle cars. We sure had some fun. I'm so glad Bill found me on Facebook this past year and we became Facebook friends and chatted and emailed back and forth many times. I will miss him very much. RIP, my friend.
